What Could Your Life Look Like If You Had No Limitations?
A Framework for 2025 Growth and Success
It’s a bold question, one that can make you pause and think, What if? And as we approach the end of 2024, there’s no better time to reflect on what this year has brought and what the next one could hold.
For me, December is the time to take stock. I ask myself the tough questions:
Was this year successful?
Did I achieve the goals I set out to hit?
What did I learn, and how can I improve moving forward?
The answers aren’t always easy, but they’re necessary. Because here’s the truth: every single year can get better. It’s not about reinventing yourself overnight. It’s about using the feedback from where you’ve been and building upon it. Brick by brick.
Let’s get into it. This blog is going to give you a simple framework to help you step into your best self in 2025. If you’re ready to take charge of your life, read on.
Here’s the first step: define what the best version of yourself looks like.
For many years, I thought success was defined by how much money you had in the bank or how impressive your career title sounded. Society sells us this idea, and it’s so easy to buy into. But I’ve since learned that success is deeply personal. It’s unique to you.
For me, 2025 will be defined by running 58 marathons in 58 days across all 50 states of America and all eight states and territories of Australia. Why? Because this challenge aligns with what I value most:
Adventure
Growth
Raising funds for a cause bigger than myself
Bringing people I care about along for the journey
That’s my version of success for next year. For you, it might look completely different:
Launching your business
Improving your health
Strengthening your relationships
Spending more time with your kids
And that’s the beauty of it. There’s no right or wrong answer. The only question that matters is: What does success mean to you?
Take some time to think about it. What do you want to achieve? Who do you want to become? Don’t get overwhelmed by trying to see 10 years into the future. Start small. Focus on the next 12 months, or even better, the next 12 weeks.
Why 12 weeks?
Because it’s a short enough time to create urgency but long enough to make a meaningful impact. That’s what we do in my Strong Men of Value Academy.
We break goals down into 12-week game plans that create tangible, actionable progress. And trust me, it works.
Once you’ve defined what your best version looks like, the next step is identifying the key actions that will get you there.
Not all actions are created equal. You don’t need to do everything. You just need to focus on the key actions that will move the needle the most.
Here’s a quick example from my own life: In 2025, I want to challenge myself mentally and physically by running those 58 marathons. But this decision has consequences. For every action, there’s an opposite reaction.
For me, the trade-offs include:
Spending 70 days away from my wife. That’s tough, and we’ve had to work together to create a plan for how we’ll stay connected during that time.
Stepping back from some work commitments. I won’t be able to focus as much on growing my business while I’m running.
These are the realities of pursuing big goals. But by understanding these trade-offs ahead of time, I can prepare for them. I can have the conversations, set the boundaries, and plan for success.
What are the key actions for your goals?
If you want to improve your health, it might mean committing to 3 workouts per week.
If you want to grow your business, it might mean reaching out to 5 new clients every week.
If you want to strengthen your relationships, it might mean scheduling weekly date nights or family time.
Keep it simple. Focus on the actions that matter most.
The version of you reading this blog today is not the version of you that will achieve your 2025 goals. That’s a good thing.
To become your best self, you need to grow. That means:
Facing fears
Trying new things
Failing
Laughing at yourself
Growth requires courage, consistency, and a willingness to embrace the process—even when it’s uncomfortable.
Just this morning, I was on a run with my 11-year-old nephew. After we finished, we threw the football around for a while, and I bumped into a mate’s parents. Funny enough, the dad reminded me of a time almost 15 years ago when I rolled a car into a ditch and he had to pull me out with his tow truck.
We had a laugh about it, but as I walked away, I couldn’t help but think about the seasons of life.
When we’re kids, it’s all about play and adventure.
In our teens and 20s, we’re building our identity and trying to prove ourselves.
In our 30s and 40s, it’s about creating stability and security.
And as we grow older, it becomes about connection and community.
Each season brings its own challenges and opportunities. And the more intentional you are about how you navigate them, the better you become.
If you want to step into the best version of yourself, it starts with reflection. Here are a few questions to get you started:
What do I truly want to achieve in 2025 and why?
What daily habits or routines will support this vision?
What’s one thing I can stop doing that’s holding me back?
How do I want to feel on December 31, 2025?
Sometimes growth isn’t about adding more. It’s about stopping the things that no longer serve you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or busy but not productive, ask yourself: What can I remove?
At the end of the day, becoming your best self isn’t about achieving perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about showing up every day and laying one brick at a time.
Whether 2024 was your best year or your worst year, it doesn’t matter. You can still grow. You can still become better.
Start by defining what your best version looks like. Identify the key actions that will move you forward. And remember, it’s okay to fail. It’s okay to pivot. Growth isn’t linear, but it’s always worth it.
For me, the 58 marathons represent a decade of building. A decade of relationships, growth, and consistency that led to this moment. Your journey will look different, but the principles are the same.
So as you plan for 2025, ask yourself: Who do I want to become? And more importantly, What am I willing to do to get there?
The best version of you is waiting. Go after it.
As always, do something today to be better for tomorrow.
